the raccoons i’ve met have been stealthy, quick, and given the chance to fight or flee, they’ve fled first . . . . helps that they can climb trees for a hasty getaway. this one was drinking from the creek when we saw him, and he watched us watching him, whilst heading to the base of a tree. then he climbed and watched. very cute with the ringed eyes, very deadly if you are a chicken. one of his bretheren did the hens in, left them headless and legless in the coop, with Inchy blind and bleeding, but alive. more recently another one of his brothers made of with purple tulip’s head and legs . . . . . they don’t seem to eat the whole bird??!!
Wow how nice looking it is. Are they dangerous. Did this one do the hen in?
